Sometimes you just have to chew on something: recipe for Fortified Cream of Wheat with Grape Nuts
Here is my biggest problem with weight loss diet recommendations. They always include a “great tasting health shake for breakfast”. Shakes can taste great, although I do not think that most of them do, and it is a great way to get nutrients – and it a perfect solution to eating several small meals a day since none of us have time to fix full blown meals all of the time.
But I have a problem with shakes. I like to chew. There is just something about having mandibles that makes me think God created us to chew things:) Bottom line I will not want to drink a shake all of the time so if I want to ensure that I will stick to my weight loss regime then I need to have a solution for those mornings that I just need to bit into something.
Here is a great recipe that can help.
Fortified Cream of Wheat with Grape Nuts
3Tbsp – Non instant Cream of Wheat. It has more fiber so it is better for you and it is not that much longer to fix.
1-Cup of Water
2 Scoops (approximately 40-50 grams) of your favorite protein powder. I use Isagenix.
Cinnamon to taste
Sugar Substitute to taste
Milk as needed
Vanilla to taste
Sprinkle of Grape Nuts
Butter buds
All right, mix the Cream of Wheat, water and protein together. And cook according to the direction on the box. If you are smaller and do not need as much protein you can reduce the powder by 1/2 and the water to about 3/4 cup.
You will need to watch it because it tends to boil over. I put a sheet of wax paper under the bowl to catch anything that spills. If it starts to boil over just open the microwave and give it a good stir.
Once it is done cooking add the other ingredients to taste and then top with grape nuts.
The flavor is great. The meal is very filling and nutritious and the grape nuts give me something to chew on. Some days I just need that!

Our tastes converge on several things now. I was never a big fan of Cream of
Wheat until I started trying to eat healthier. With this type of a recipe
I'm able to lose weight, eat something healthy for my body and still get to
chew!
Thanks for the comments as always.

The protein can be added to several other things. Yogurt and Oatmeal are others that work as well. If you get one that is not too powerful in flavor – or is a flavor you like it is best.

this sounds way yummy. I am just thinking about the patented live enzyme transport system that we have with the IsaLean Shake powder and the sensitivity to extreme heat. Warm is good, although boiling may kill the digestive enzymes before they get to do their wonderful work.

That is actually good to know. I imagine that you can make the recipe as
normally called for but with extra water, and just ad the protein after it
has cooled down a little and let us such up the rest of the water.
I'll have to give that a try and see if it taste as good that way. I imagine
that it would be just the same.
Thanks for the comment and suggestion.

I do agree with you most of them having problem with diet problems and especially in the morning before breakfast and you have given the solution practically so that is really good know each of one of the points by step by step so it is useful to do daily.
I have gone through you message and you given great stuff to do it practically and i guess you that you have done before it self so we need to follow each of the things because you already given solution for us so just now the matter of time and matter of the practice daily makes us to know better.

My sentiments on the issue of chewing is just the opposite, I hate to chew. I know it's a little strange but I would love if every meal I take could be transformed into a shake or something. I guess that's why they say every person is different from every other person.

Yum – Cream o Wheat! It is one of my winter staple foods. I like to add honey and cinnamon myself. Just so darn tasty. As kids, our mom would make the chocolate kind too, and let us put marshmallows in it. What can I say, we were sugar fiends growing up – we put tons of sugar on everything. But I don't do that anymore, good thing.
